Congratulations to Prof. John Wangai Kimenju for being elected Dean Faculty of Agriculture on June 18, 2014
Prof Kimenju holds a Ph.D. in Crop Protection (1998) from the University of Nairobi. He is an Associate Professor of Nematology in the Department of Plant Science and Crop Protection. Prof. Kimenju is an active researcher and student mentor. He has supervised 8 PhD and about 30 M.Sc. students to completion; published over 63 papers in refereed journals, co-authored 4 book chapters and presented over 45 papers in conferences
and scientific meetings. Previously, Prof. Kimenju has served as the Section Head, Crop Protection (2005- 2009); Coordinator of Module II Training Programmes (since 1999); Coordinator of Industrial Attachments in the Faculty of Agriculture (2003-2007); Manager, Student Welfare, SMU- Upper Kabete (2008-2014).

M.Sc. Crop Protection student wins Norman Borlaug Leadership award for 2014
Mr. Rabson Mulenga, a Master of Science in Crop Protection student at the Department of Plant Science and Crop Protection, University of Nairobi has been awarded the Norman E. Borlaug Leadership Enhancement in Agriculture Programme (BorlaugLEAP) for the period April 2014 to March 2015. The BorlaugLEAP awards fellowships to outstanding graduate students who show strong promise as leaders in the field of agriculture and related fields.
